30 Aug – 1 Sep Refuge 2018: Pandemic
What would you do in a pandemic? Who can you rely on in a time of difficulty? Perhaps it is the person in the street beside you, or it might be your next door neighbour. Either way, it is the people that surround you every day.
Attend Refuge and get creative about readiness with your neighbours, local community, artists and Emergency
service professionals such as the Australian Red Cross. For Refuge 2018: Pandemic, Arts House
becomes a 'nerve centre' for public events and artworks which explore ways to prepare for and survive infectious disease. The Australian Red Cross will also be hosting a mock emergency and doorknocking
exercise for all residents of North and West Melbourne who are interested in participating on Saturday 1 September. "Your relationship and the way you gather with the people you live amongst is really important." - Lorna Hannan, North Melbourne community member for over 50 years.
