To prepare for the next decade, the City of Melbourne is bringing the community together to refresh the goals for Future Melbourne. They are inviting the community to add their ideas and vision for our city’s future.
Future Melbourne 2026 will be a long-term strategic plan to guide city development and activity from 2016 until 2026. This will be the second time that Council has developed a Future Melbourne plan.
The first plan was developed from 2007-2008. During this time, approximately 15,000 individuals, businesses, organisations and community groups from across Melbourne and the globe participated in the development of the plan. The plan developed a vision for Melbourne as a bold, inspirational and sustainable global city, supported by six high level goals: to build a city for people, a creative city, a prosperous city, a knowledge city, an eco-city and a connected city.
Visit the Future Melbourne 2026 online engagement hub until 31 March to share your ideas and find out more.
